Got the Holiday edition of the Quadratec.com catalog.
Sooo many goodies in there, I love those catalogs even though i don't order very often from them. They help keep me inspired to do more with my Jeep. Right now the majority of my projects are put on hold for a couple of years. I want to redo the garage and clean it up and make it into not only a functional garage/wood shop but a man cave as well.
(thats the GF rolling her eyes at me.)
Granted most of the work on the Jeep probably won't be able to be done in the garage after the lift but I'll have all my tools and stuff in a good area where I can get to them easier.
until then i'll keep drooling over the cool stuff in the catalogs and maybe see if I can get the GF to add some things to the Xmas list!

Talked to the mechanic yesterday, it seems the flow is just fine but he found a compression leak on the #6 cylinder and thinks that is the issue. We're going to try a block sealer first and see if that fixes it as he said it was a small leak. However, if that doesn't work, I'm looking at a new head gasket. Also he discovered that the temp sensor for the thermostat gauge was installed incorrectly and a couple of wires are frayed so he is also going to fix that as well. I'll worry about the oil pressure gauge later as I regularly check the oil now.

Well I finally gave up on trying to fix the cooling issue myself.
I don't have any manuals for it and trying to figure out the sealed cooling system is a little tricky for me. After discussing it with the future Mrs. Jeep nut we just decided to take it in and have it looked at. It's one of two three things, either a clogged radiator, bad thermostat or a bad water pump. I'm just hoping for a flush myself.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's day to all the dads out there. My family is awesome, they got me the first 5 episodes of Spike TV's Trucks where they are building their project Cheep Cherokee. This series has really inspired me and helped me get some ideas with mine. I've mentioned it before but they are basically building everything I want to do with mine.
Project Update:
Well I haven't gotten any more done to it as I'm currently battling a coolant issue. I recently learned about the weep hole in the water pump and I'm not really sure the fluid I'm seeing is from that. I think it's from the reservoir which has leaked badly during tests. The reservoir is good from initial inspection, its the steam and stuff that escapes is what I'm referring to. My next step will be to try a flush and see if that does it. I'm in a tight budget lock down so it may be a couple more weeks before I can do that. Until then the Jeep sits.
Side Note:
I got my air compressor back in the shop! I was letting a very good friend of mine use it as I really had no place to put it originally. Now that Carol and I are living together I can put it in the garage. My friend returned it the other day because he bought a higher capacity one. Mine's just a 5 gallon one but does all I need it to right now. Plus it belonged to my grandfather and is one of the very few things I have of his to remember him by. We didn't have the closest relationship but I did love him and I do miss him.
